Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 lb kale, stems removed, chopped (or sauerkraut, or endive)
  • 4 smoked sausages (rookworst) or kielbasa
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg
  • Gravy and mustard for serving

Method

  1. Boil potatoes until tender. In last 5 min, add kale to the pot.

  2. Drain. Mash together with butter and milk. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg.

  3. Simmer sausages in water 10 min until heated through.

  4. Serve stamppot in a mound with sausage on top, gravy, and mustard.
