Garlic Naan

Garlic Naan — Breads — indian — recipe plated and ready to serve

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp melted ghee or butter + more for brushing
  • 1 egg
  • Topping: Melted butter + 2 minced garlic cloves + cilantro + flaky salt

Method

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt. Add milk, yogurt, ghee, and egg. Knead 6 min until soft and slightly tacky.
  2. Cover, rise 1 hour.
  3. Divide into 8 balls. Roll into ovals, 1/4" thick.
  4. Heat cast iron skillet over high heat. Cook naan 1.5 min until bubbles form and bottom is charred. Flip, cook 1 min.
  5. Brush immediately with garlic butter, sprinkle cilantro and flaky salt.
